Diary Entry By A Slave From Ancient China:
28th june
Today i woke up to the crowing of the rooster and was out of bed within minutes of the rising sun. i had to put on my wet clothes that hadn't dried over night after working in the rain yesterday. So i was cold and uncomfortable before the day had really even began. Due to my wet clothes i got to the fields late and i could tell that the other peasant working on the field today we're going to give me a rough time. Though i did deserve it since i was disrespect to them by being late. I have to call them peasant, because they think i am not worthy enough to know them. So i start work on the wheat fields alongside the peasant that are now very angry with me.
At lunch break we were allowed a very short break to have something to eat and drink. As always i was at the back of the line and i usually get the least amount of food but the other seemed to still be upset with me and decided not to leave me any food or water. So for the rest of the day i was hungry and my throat was as dry as a desert.
It was at the end of the day that i had the hardest time because we had to harvest the prickly wheat and of course the other left it to me to load the it into the cart. This was back breaking work and by the time i was done, i couldn't stand up properly and was bruised all over. The walk back to where i was going to sleep tonight was horrible to because the peasants thought that it would funny to push me around and then trip me over, falling into the mud.
Dinner tonight was aswell horrible with eating only damp cold wheat noodles and sleep cold with a very small fire that when out very quickly.
I hope that tomorrow will be a greater day and wall asleep nowing that i am stuck here as a slave for the rest of my life.
