What Type Of People Were They: They were usually chinese people or from a neighbouring country or small tribe that the chinese army had raided. There were also some slaves that had been brought across from africa to be traded but this was extremely rare and uncommon and only occurred at the end of china's ancient civilization. The slaves were poor and mistreated people . They were usually not the most nice or friendly people but that may be because of the way that they were treated. The majority of china's slaves were born into slavery because their parents were slaves of they were either sold into slavery or were prisoner of war. If that was the case they were treated with even more disrespect. they usually started at a very young age maybe 5 or 6 and then continued to serve their master for the rest of their life.
